What's the problem?

I got an invite from muz_wez on Forza earlier but when I tried to accept the spinny joining screen came up then I got a message saying game unavailable.

Also quite often I'll try to join a game but get the game session is full/unavailable message but when I re-search the same game will come up not full and ready to go.

Is there anything I can do at my end to stop it?

Well the long and short of it really is that Xbox Live is being profoundly ste at the moment!

Are you with BT for your broadband? I have major issues with Live due mostly to the BT Total Broadband wireless router being wk. But as said above, Live is being very temperamental since the update last week according to quite a few forums.

Indeed.
Now using a BT HomeHub, it is the biggest bag of AIDS imaginable...
When it works, it's fine, but when not it won't have anything.
It just doesn't work!!

I think Steve's right about LIVE being tempremental piost-update, it has been somewhat disconnect-y.

I'd go with that. Home Hub stopped working twice last night, plus xbox live seems to have more connection issues since the last update.

I'm with sky but not in an llu area so it's just the normal BT exchange, when I do connect I don't tend to suffer from much lag so it looks like an xbox live issue

Silly question are you wireless or wired? Try a full shutdown/reboot of your modem. Mine seems sort of OK at the moment (touch wood!)

Wireless, cable to the computer and then wireless from there. Hadn't thought of reboot

I've got wireless but prefer to hard-wire it anyway as I can then be sure of no interference.

Xbox live has much improving to do. It's currently a very piss poor service.

MIght be part of your problem, I'm hard wired and have very few problems. Other than the damn thing freezing mid garage, but thats my own fault!!!

I run a similar set-up myself, cable to laptop and piggy back on the wireless connection.

I only get lag if I download things whilst playing...

The BT homehub is an absolute pile of donkey jizz. for past few weeks its been disconnecting at random, the ADSL light would flash for a bit, it would then connect to the internet for a couple seconds, off again, repeat this 100 times. phone BT and expain to the foreign chap that it is a bt homehub, explain again that it just says BTHomeHub on it and the light is flashing, he then tells you that there is nothing they can do.

Then once you finally connect to the internet you get online to try find another broadband package fom someone else. then it cuts out again.

Ditto. As with the PS3 the Xbox has to be in your router's DMZ.

if its a Netgear DG834G I can help otherwise you're on your own.

Introducing a highly phone extension through the house I've plugged the xbox straight into the router. Was previously getting a moderate NAT message when running it through the computer, this has now gone, I'm guessing that's what was causing some of the issues.

Any ideas on how I can stop the NAT issues through the pc?
