my Stuff not marking things as read

For the past couple of weeks I've noticed that My Stuff isnt marking threads as read when I click on them.

I'll go into My Stuff, click on a thread, read it, go back to My Stuff, and the thread is still bold indicating its unread, even though no new posts have been made.

I've cleared my cookies and temp internet files, and am using Firefox 2.0.0.20

Very odd, I'll have a dig and see what I can figure out.

Does it work in any other browser?

I've not tried. I'll use IE this evening and see if it still does it.

I get this every so often as well.

Well it seems to be fine in IE, back to using firefox today and its happening again. Must be a firefox thing.

Tisn't. I get it in Safari on my Mac, Firefox on my PC, and IE when I'm out and about.

I also get the same thing using ie.

There is definitely something wrong if it is happening to that many of you. I'll take a look this afternoon and see what I can do.

Its happened to me quite a few tiems this morning so far. But its not every time.

Is there anyway to show whats happening from our end?

I've always had this from time to time. I've put it down to a sync issue between your servers or a caching issue. It usually rights itself, or a ctrl-F5 or three sorts it.

Yep, the behaviour of this does seem very much like a caching issue, especially as it's normally resolved be a refresh.

Ironically it happened to me on this thread. Ctrl-F5 on My Stuff didn't fix it. Refreshing the thread whilst reading it did. Well I say did, all I can say for certain is after doing so, My Stuff was up to date again.

It's doing it fairly constantly for me too. Firefox 3.0.11 here on an iMac. Irritating more than rage-inducing.

I can't see any obvious problems with the my stuff system, so it's a bit of a weird one I'm afraid.

Can one of you guys who is affected try waiting 15 seconds (without loading any other pages) and then refreshing "My Stuff" next time it happens? This will help us rule out caching/synchronisation issues.

If that doesn't make it sort itself out then I'll have to try and catch it in the act, so if you post on here when it happens (during office hours) then I'll jump into the database and see exactly what it is saying!

Its just did it with this very thread.

I clicked my stuff, saw that you had replied. Clicked into the thread, read your reply and went back to mystuff, this thread was still showing as "new" but it was just your reply, i've been to the little boys room, come back and refreshed, it was still showing as unread.

ETA I work on 2 different computers, with different operating systems and they both exhibit the same fault!
