I hope it's legible. Apparently they "don't normally give this information to [potential customers]"... is this true? It's for this car (worth about 21600 of your pounds):

http://www.weissach.com/auto-details.asp?autoID=88...

Apparently there are only about 150 Elises in western Canada - I hope it holds its value well.

Oh, BTW they've put new tires on the rear. 4.0mm left on the front tyres. Brakes have only 25% left. Next service at 26000km.

Thanks for all your help so far; I'm getting a lot of positive feedback. I'm getting cold feet and am feeling a bit of pressure from the salesman, and may have to let this one go, but we'll see what happens. Oh, and my father-in-law is thinking I'm daft. But he's an accountant. And plays golf.

There'll be other fish in the sea, right?

Cheers

That looks good. No sign of buzzing or over heating.

Put that tick in the box.

Forgive the silly question, but what does "buzzing" mean? Over-revving/hitting the rev-limiter? If so, does this get recorded by the ECU every time it happens?

Thanks

Buzzing is down shifting at too high a rpm and letting the engine go over it's limiter.

Hitting the limiter going up the box won't hurt anything.

And yes, it records it.

Slightly strange they volunteer this - or did you ask for it?

If I were buying a second hand Elise from a dealer I'd ask them to do a printout for me while I watched - if you decide to buy, ask them to do another one while you watch!

Yes, I did ask for the ECU printout. They seem reputable, but it's always a good idea to double-check these things... next time I'll watch.

The only thing I don't understand is if I add up all the max engine speed hours, the total is 40; wheel speed total is 23 hours, engine speed is 20 hours. That seems very few hours to complete 19000 km. Does the ECU keep track of ALL the history or only back to a certain time frame?

Seems strange - maybe the numbers can be reset electronically.

On my last print out my engine speed times added together x average mph (estimated) = total milage.

why are you getting cold feet? whats worrying you?

trouble with ECU print outs and reading things like this forum is that they give you something else to worry you - after all, you will get far more bad news on here (some of it ill informed) than you will get good news.

the car isnt bullet proof - no car is. but with the toyota engine its pretty solid and reliable. judge it as you would any other car but if you cant stop worrying now, then dont buy

I love the car; everything seems perfect... just a little tension with the parents... family politics... blah blah. We'll see what happens. I sure appreciate this forum and all the comments, it's brilliant. I think I'll regret not getting this car if it ends up not happening.
