Was just thinking... after the "cracking" run out on Sunday... that what better way to shake off the alcohol and plum pudding induced stupour from Christmas day, than by going out for a refreshing blast in the country on Boxing Day.

A crowd of us used to go out on horses and stop off at the Royalty pub ontop of Otley Chevin and on a nice bright, crisp morning there's few better feelings than being out in the fresh air.

Just a thought, anyone think it might be a goer?

Hello Al

Am abit dubious about going out for a pint and the craic with you on Saturday now

I'll ask the DJ to play The Waterboys song - 'Chim Girl saw the whole of the moon'

Would like to go out to play on Boxing Day, but have to go to my cousin's birthday party (his B day is 25th Dec!) Not sure what time the party starts, though if it is later on I will try and come for a jaunt

Where is Otley Chevin then? I'm coming up from the South just for Xmas and Boxing Day, staying at North Allerton - is that far away? As the traffic up the M1 is guaranteed to be a 'mare I was going to take the Golf.... but could have my arm twisted

I always take the Tiv for a spin round North Yorkshire on Boxing Day, so I can join you.

Hi Don - Northallerton might be a bit of a trek to come just for a lunchtime snifter. If it was a big do then maybe, but I think it would only be half a dozen of us at most getting together for twop or three hours to blow the cobwebs away. Otley Chevin is between Otley and Leeds in West Yorkshire.

However, if it turns out to be a goer and you need an excuse to 'escape' for the day you will be more than welcome.

Another stranger interested here. My motor's usually just about warmed up by the Chevin & a quick blast would be a welcome break from the mountain of studying I have to do over the Xmas period.

Here's hoping for some decent weather....

Hey Martyn, if you're worried about keeping up... sorry, that was another occasion... I mean, standing the pace...

and, all in tune now... "Jo saw the crescent, but not.. the whole of the moooon"

Boxing Day is all just an idea at the moment... depending on who's up for it we may even end up around Huddersfield kicking off at my place for bacon butties and bucks fizz, as that may be easier.

mmmm Holme Moss mmmm Woodhead Pass we also have a very good pub 50 yards from my front door for post race...doh... I mean run analysis

ooh ooh more people, this could turn out to be quite good after all better warn the missus

Like I said guys, we'll see where people are all based and sort a meeting place out from there... either way, Pennines or Dales, there's plenty of nice countryside to go at.

Andy and Chumley - whereabouts are you based?

No matter if its a bit of a trek - I think I'll be ready for a blast of cold air through my brain after 24hrs+ of playing nice with the in-laws.
...cold air or a bullet

I'm up in North Leeds just inside the ringroad on the A61 (Harrogate Rd)

Don't mind where to go to, my excuse to drive is that I only see the mistress 6 months a year.

If it's a Chevin run then we'll come, getting over to Huddersfield for lunchtime may be a bit tricky. We have friends with us until lunchtime but will come as soon as they leave.

Actually, the friends staying with us have an S, they had planned to travel oop north in the Volvo. Wonder if they can be persuaded....

I'd be up for joining you all on Boxing Day as it may be the last time I get to use the Tuscan before 1st May '04.

I'll warn you now, if you talk to me about being in the snow I may just start to cry. I have new ski's but can't get away this year.
