I recently saw a 993 C4S, a 997 C2 and a bunch of other cars with 'PH Le Mans something something' stickers on them. I'm probably a bit behind here smash but could somebody please enlighten me?

I still don't have an idea of what the hell this is all about.

Is it a bit like cannonball? Cost to enter? Any details at all I could have?!

Le Mans is a 24 hour endurance race, probably the biggest racing event in the world.

Ben - sticker up (?) the 911 for next year, grab a mate and a tent and head down for the event. You'll love it ... the drive down, the tent bobbins, the beer, the craic and ... the race. And then drive home on the N138 on Sunday night\Monday morning and just see the crowds waving you home - in a good way.

I've always associated Le-Mans with the famous 24hr track racing only...

I'm still a bit green on the thing that's going down on the road. When is it next year, who goes into it and what's the route?

Cheers!

Well, it's now come to my attention of how much of a muppet I must look right now. Do the PH people meet up somewhere then make their way over there or what?

Yep scores of people (not just from PH, loads of other forums / clubs etc too) go down there. The dates for next year won't be announced for a few months, but it's normally around the same time every year (2nd weekend of June).

Loads of convoys and stuff so there'll always be a group of people to tag along with, but it very much depends what ferry / eurostar crossing you get, and what day you get there. Some get there really early and take the best part of a week, others leave on the friday and get back on the sunday. There's normally a list on here of who's on what crossing.

It's basically just a big social affair, lots of booze and laughs, and the chance to catch a bit of the racing. Lots of folks sticker the cars up too, or take all sorts of wierd and wonderful vehicles.
Have a rake through some of the threads on here and see what the fuss is all about, plenty of photos and stuff smile
