Hey Guys,

I know some of you here are Really rather good at painting so I thought I'd pluck your brains...

I like to have my name on my cars. I liked the Project Blackjack video's and what they'd done with their names. Printed them on their cars quite neatly so that they showed up on photos. I like the idea.

I've had a couple of attempts at printing my name (or a shortened version a la G-Fire) on some of my favorite drift cars (for the snazzy photo oppertunities).

I can't find a way of fitting my whole name on a car whilst making it look any better than the passengers of a canines colon.

So here goes... Do any of you have any ideas/suggestions for a logo or version of my gamertag which will fit on a car.

Can be big and loud or discreet. I'm by no means a good painter but complicated or not if an idea grabs me I will certainly give it my best shot.

Thanks for reading biggrin

A fuel can surrounded by fire pehaps?

Or a puddle type design with flames above it?

Other than that, i'd just whack your name on it, perhaps make the G and F capitals and larger than the rest of the type. It's surprising how small a logo can be yet still be picked up well when taking in-race photo's.

hehe, Those are the same kind of things I'd thought of before but I'm a bit naff at fire. I have however seen someone racing in a PH lobby with a Flame Painted SRT-10 (i think)... Might try and take a few tips from their imagining of fire.

Cheers Wild smile

Tried a puddle of fire last night... BUT, flammable liquids tend to burn blue, so they're not a raging fire allowing me to use the "Flame" and "Tribal" vynils to good effect.

What that would need would be some good clever gradient/transparent effects, I'm finding it hard to get a gradient effect which has an adjustable curve on it.

Would any of you experienced (or non-experienced, naturally gifted also accepted) painters have any ideas for doing a curvy blue flame, much like you'd get off a lighter...?

Thanks in advance smile

What about something like this?

The flames hsould be fairly easy to do with the standard vinyls? Then you could put your name underneath instead of 'Flammable Liquid'.

Use one of the standard gradient shapes put overlay it with a curve shaped how you want it. Almost like making a stencil if you understand me.

That's bloody genius, I'd been thinking along the overly artistic route. I'd not thought about your bog standard Caution Signs! How stupid considering how much Health and Safety rubbish I have to deal with in Manufacturing...

I Like that, I'll give it a shot wink

Thanks B16 RTT

I think I get what you're saying, so layering properly is key?

I'd really love a proper type flame... And when looking at a flame it does seem to have propper seperations between the colours... Now if only I can pull it off! biggrin

I work in Construction. Health & Safety is a way of life for us!

With some of these paintjobs, the simple approach is sometimes the right way. It has to be for me, because I haven't got the nouse to do the fancy scensoredt!

No problem. Might give it a go myself tonight if I get a chance. Was thinking of doing a HazChem car!

If I do a decent enough job I'll put a pic on here and you can have the logo if you want it!

Sure thing!

But I suppose that all depends on when Live comes back online, If it's still off when I get home then no doubt I'll be painting for as long as the girlfriend can put up with. Single player races are nothing compared to online play... except when it comes to Drift-Racing my Trans-Am around the B-Class endurance race driving

Stupid bloody Exige blindsiding me around 1st corner on 23rd lap >.<

D.W are good initals to work with.

You could make a Skull and crossbones design with a circular ourter frame and have a banner around the top and Bottom of the circle saying:

Death Wish

\___/
(0,0) <-- Skull and Crossbones
/\#/\

Dan Wilkie
(Thinking that would look good on the side of a Dodge Charger or something...

Whatever you've got can be worked with =)

Thanks Carl smile

I took your design and tweaked it slightly... I used the Jerry-Can from the Racing Vynils as if it were fueling the fire and altered the colour scheme a little.
