Alarm Installers in Bristol

Anyone know of/recommend thatcham approved alarm installers in Bristol who are familiar with TVRs slightly eccentric wiring? Been told Sextons are OK but that wasn't from a TVR owner...

Also any recommendations for the actual cat 1 alarm (for S2), I've used Clifford before without trouble but have heard of problems re meta. Any thoughts most appreciated.

I never had an imobiliser until the insurers decided for me that the car needed one back in 99.

Uplands in Gloucester Road.....dunno if they are still there/exist....fitted a Cobra.

Next spring the car let me down for the 1st time....trailered home by the AA all the way from the ring road on the way home from a Golden Heart meet....and why ? ....u guessed it....wasn't the car at all but the flippin imobiliser.

Called Uplands out to my house....came out the following week....lots of messin....said it was faulty so disconnected and took away....I said u book it in to come back same time next week....yeah ok....did they turn up....ha.

Got on the phone....oh sorry, we'll send someone out next week....he came on time all the way from Wales !

All done in 1/2 hour....wasn't faulty after all...numpty hadn't used a reliable enough earth point.

All fine until this spring when the little light wouldn't come on, let alone go off when attempting to operate via fob thingy ....so it's now sitting on a shelf in the shed as the car is on a classic 10+ year old policy and doesnee have to have one....waste of time and money.

But it still has the alarm that was fitted when I got the car....and has started every time this year no probs.

Sif, I'd take it to Sextons in Bath over Bristol. e-mail me offline if you want to know why...

There's not many places in Bristol I'd take any of our cars.
