Advert posting problems?

Is anyone else experiencing delays getting an ad uploaded into the classifieds?

In the past, when I've used PH to advertise a car, the advert has been live almost immediately. However, an ad I tried to submit yesterday evening is still "awaiting approval" approx 16 hours later.

I can't see any obvious "user error" on my part, but just wondered if (a) there is a general problem, (b) it's just me and I should try to resubmit, or (c) I'm being impatient and should just wait a while longer...

Any ideas?

Hi Wrighty

Only certain adverts go into 'Awaiting Approval'. An automatic filter picks up various things in an ad and decides whether or not to send it to us for manual approval. When this happens, we have to manually look over the advert and choose whether or not to approve it, and/or fix any issues with the advert that need resolving first.

I imagine your previous ads did not get picked up by the system for manual approval, so would have gone straight on. This most recent one evidently went to awaiting approval, so would have been slightly delayed.

If you posted your advert at around 9pm as your post suggests, that is after we've all gone home, so we were not here to approve the advert. I try to do all of the approvals in the morning each day, but sometimes other tasks mean this can be delayed to slightly later in the day.

All pending approvals have been done as of right now, so your ad should now be online. Apologies for any delay - we're doing our best!

Hi Simon

Well now I'm confused. My advert has gone from awaiting approval to being deleted from the system altogether...

The ad was there, in my "manage your ads" section, when I posted at lunchtime. Have just read your reply, then went to check the classifieds and my ad wasn't there, then re-checked my "manage your ads" page and it has vanished without trace.

I'll try again...

Hi Wrighty

Your advert is live and Premium, and is showing in your Manage My Ads screen. Try pressing CTRL + F5 to load an uncached version of the page. If you still can't see it this may mean you have two accounts, in which case drop me an email on [e-mail]

Yes - it's there now, but only because I re-typed it and resubmitted it last night. I tried all the "F5" stuff and refreshing yesterday afternoon, but it was still nowhere to be found. All sorted now I've re-lodged it, so fingers crossed for a successful outcome!
