http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a... Peter Wheeler Dies Aged 64

I have often thought that it was the S not the Griff that saved/kick-stared the golden years of TVR under Peter Wheeler .
Its a sad day with the passing of PW we have lost the architect of many happy hours motoring .

Indeed the S series fed the revival.

The V8s became the development buck for the Griff and the Tuscan racer.

Also S series sales volume led Mazda to design the MX5.

Indeed a sad passing. Later today I shall fire up the beast in a sign of respect.

Thanks PW for the best sports cars Britain has ever produced.

It's just not right, doesn't make sense. Makes the cars seem even special as they feel a part of Mr Wheeler.

We should do something as a group as a mark of respect.
I have no idea what exactly but I am sure his family would appreciate knowing how many people from all walks of life feel that this is a sad loss. The TVR's he is responsible for have brought real sportscars within the reach of real people.

Agree wholeheartedly, Peter Wheeler and his team produced some memorable cars. It would be fitting if there was a permanent memorial to him perhaps at a racing circuit where he used to race a Tuscan. If the Morgan Car Club can erect a memorial to Peter Morgan for his efforts surely the TVR supporters could do something similar. I would certainly contribute as his cars have given me tremendous pleasure
