Where is PWK 700 the MKV11 that won the '56 Monte Carlo

LWK 700/701 ,I believe these were works prepared cars, the first 700 was raced by Jackie Stewarts` brother Jimmy prior to the Monte in 1955. It had been returned to the factory in preparation for the 56 Monte. PWK 701 for example was raced at the same time by Desmond Titterington, works prepared again. 701 then went on to be the works entry for Cecil Vard in the 56 Monte with 700 for Adams. I would think it was broken up having being raced and rallied for two years, or just sold off minus all the upgrades, D engine etc. Might be worth checking with Ronnie Adams family if they are still around.

Thank you for this. Actually, I'm Ronnies' nephew. Sadly, Ronnie died a few years ago and none of the family know where the car is. The number plate doesn't come up on any searches either. I may well write to DVLA and see if it's still in use. You can check registrations online to see if a car is still registered.

Sadly neither PWK 700 or PWK 701 are showing up as registered.
Of the people who frequent this and the yesterday's heroes group I suspect Lowdrag might be the best person to try talking to. He might have some useful contacts in the JDHT.

I'm not at home with my library at the moment, but do you have access to Andrew Whyte's "Jaguar Sports Racing Competition, 1954 On (Vol 2)", ISBN-10: 1859608434 ?
I've not got around to reading Vol2 yet, but it might have a history of what happened to the cars after their works racing/rallying days. Vol1 had a lot of information about the rallying as well as circuit racing.

Many thanks indeed for your help and suggestions - sorry for the delay in replying. The book is indeed "FROM CRAIGANTLET TO MONTE CARLO" and I'm the same nephew sited in the Autosport tread. Sadly, I think the car and the registration, like Ronnie himself, may have also passed that final finish line. If you come across anything more, please do drop me a line. Can I suggest you commission an exact copy of the car if the original has long gone ?. There are rust free examples available from the states to form a good basis . If the research is verified it would be worth nearly as much.
I have built a copy of Mike Hawthorns Mk1 some 20 years ago with all the right research it has a value all of its` own. Worth thinking about.
