Polls - changing one's mind?

Sorry, this has probably been asked before, but the search is down.

Is it possible for people to change their mind on a poll after they've voted? Surely the whole point of the thread is to provoke discussion, and the result of that is often that people change their minds about what they instinctively clicked at the start.

I think once you've voted that's it, you can't change your mind

That thread is a classic example of the sort of thing I mean. Loads of road car drivers instinctively voted "bike" without really thinking about it, and after reading the discussion I expect most of them have now changed their minds.

The aeroplane on a conveyor belt one is another classic What people instinctively think is the case initially isn't necessarily the case...

Sometimes you want people to change their mind, other times you want to know what peoples initial thoughts are. Because of this I wouldn't want to make it as a fixed changed, but instead we will look at adding it as an option to be chosen by the creator of the poll.

That's a good idea. There are a lot of "12 Angry Men" style threads out there
