You will get a rash of incidents being reported for the next few weeks. That is normal in the aftermath of a major crash.

Airliner windows are made up of layers of glass and plastic laminate, with heating elements embedded in them. There have been faults reported with faulty heating elements causing smoke in the cockpit and window cracking in the past, and I'm sure this won't be the last.

ETA It's not an Airbus-specific problem, although I'm sure any incident with an A330 or any Airbus will be in the headlines for the next month or so.
