A set from a chilly Monday morning, Hagley park I thought would suit square(ish).

me too - though if it were mine, I'd shop out the lamp posts and road sign and leave the walker by herself.

Yep. Other than that it's exactly what the 'wall art' market was after last year smile

What's the inside track on the requirements of the wall art market this year?

I don't know. Frankly it was so much speculative work for grasping publishing compaines for no promise of return that I quit the unequal battle and concentrated on weddings. The secret, as I understand it, is to come up with the 'killer image' that everybody has to buy (think Athena girl tennis player scratching bum).

My conclusion is that 'wall art' is a mug's game where, unless you get the killer image, you'll probably earn nothing and possibly little. A friend of mine is the UK's 8th most published artist - but he's still been screwed when the publisher said they didn't want to buy any more of his paintings, but stopped him selling them himself. Oh, and they didn't pay his last bill. And they have very good and very expensive solicitors. Artists have lost their houses trying to fight the bds.

I've got to follow the trend and say the last one as well - one of those photos that instantly grabs you.

Cheers all, seems to be a popular vote for the last one, wall art or not...

Sounds like an experience or two well worth remembering just in case one ever gets an image with potential.

I never did buy the Athena girl - not sure I knew anyone who did. I do have some interesting prints from others - mainly from one guy (non pro) who put a great collection of B&W's together and put them on show in a hospital corridor. Really good images well presented. Had to have them.

It's very rare that I get that feeling about pics and I imagine the same goes for most people.

Perhaps a WWW campaign against rip off art publishers might have some beneficial effect if it could be sustained for long enough.
