I clean my car every weekend, every other weekend i wax it and use rain X on the window.
but do you have any or all of the following habits?
  • no fingerprints on the windows. any person who touches the windows maybe killed, or at least have the stare of death
  • all vents must either be closed, or facing the same direction
  • no packets/wrappers etc can be left anywhere.
  • 'back to black' must be used on all black trim
  • an old toothbrush is kept for dash switches/nooks and crannies
  • you hover the headlining
  • there is no clutter, everything has a place
  • fingerprints on your occasionaly dirty car annoy you

Please explain why you've choosen yes or no, and why.
I must just add that i drive my cars as much as i clean them, and always have a wry smile when the car is covered in bug splats and cooked on brake dust.

Have voted 'no' because I don't hoover the ceiling or have a toothbrush for the air vents etc... But I do like it to be clean with no clutter and certainly no marks on windows.

I'd say I'm sort of in between! biggrin

No, because i don't see it as worth it.

I try to keep the interior clean and tidy generally, as this is where you have to sit!

The outside of my car gets cleaned once every few months! (the dirt hides the dents and scratches lol)

When i do clean in though i do go a bit over the top, and spend a good afternoon cleaning/polishing/hoovering/back-to-blacking etc

np, my attention span is way too short to spend more than 1.5 hours cleaning the car and i'd much rather enjoy it with my mates. If they drag a load of sand in though i won't be happy. I hate people who are anal about eating/driking in their cars even if no mess is made.

No for me too.

I'll clean the car every other weekend. I like a nice clean car, but I also like to load the car up with bikes and boots and head off with others to do outdoor stuff, often in rainy muddy conditions, or track it and end up covered in grime and brake dust.

I see the cars as working tools, not ornaments.

My car sits on the street in London.

It's not worth me getting too precious about.

I said Yes, and picked these ones out as I do, do all of these, and anyone who puts fingerprints on the windows would be given a ticking off, can't stand greasy prints on my nice clean glass, I also do my best to clean my car weekly.

What about locking your car when you get out then popping back to check you locked it?

Excessive use of wipers and washers, whether they're required or not.

Then once they're used I have to keep wiping now and again when some excess water starts travelling up/down the windscreen, no matter where it is on the windscreen.

I hate the sight of the water dribbling back down the screen.

I voted 'yes'. Although the car is often mucky with all sorts of st stuck to the carpets, everything has it's place; wallet, phone, fags, change etc. All the vents have to face in the same direction and it always has to be left in 2nd gear. I like the seats to line up, too.

Yes, I have to have the stereo volume set to an even number too, I just can't function with it on an odd number. The passenger seat has to be in the same position as my drivers seat too, rake, headrest height and angle etc. And the seatbelt height adjuster.

So do I smile

I also have over £200 of cleaning stuffs, I clean every little bit of it too.

Radio has to be on an even number.. The windows don't come down as it could mark them, and the seats have to be the same position and the vents also symetrical.

When I leave the car, everything is closed up (vents etc) anything that was in the car is taken with me (Wrappers etc) and the boot is always empty too.

I've said yes. My car is often in need of a tidy or a wash, but mechanicaly I'm fussy. There was a small chip in the paint on the driver's door handle, maybe 0.5mm big. My mate laughed at me when I explained "Look at it! It's so big you can actually SEE it!"

Not my car but mentioned on another thread:
there's a "cubed" car in the town centre. To most people it's a 3x3x4 foot cube of twisted metal. To me it's an early 90's fiat panda. 4x4 variant.

I've recently discovered that this is most frustrating when you have a car with auto-entry..

I can never be bothered to clean the interior out.

I once had to regrettably, my friend refused to sit in the front of my car since it got like this:

Although I am willing to bet that is nowhere near as bad as some others have achieved laugh

I said no. Certainly not too bothered about the exterior. I used to wash my cars frequently but found that the first thing I'd do afterwards was take them for a blast and get them dirty again. These days I just skip the back-breaking bit. Quite like to have shiny alloys though, so I clean them up occasionally. I'll stick it through the carwash if I have somewhere important to go.

Despite the dirty exterior though, I like the interior to be reasonably clean and try my best to keep it that way. All this stuff about setting the air vents the same way and aligning the driver + passenger seats is just bonkers though silly

Sorry to deviate but I've never got the point of that. In such a small space, how can the temperature possibly be divided? confused
