Just recieved new throttle cable from tvrcarparts. I thought i ordered the wrong one but after speaking to them i understand its a generic cable and needs a small modification at to enable to fit it ( i have wondered if i should have bought a ford capri or scorpio cable instead as some suggested!).

Has anyone done this who can suggest a good method.

Cheers

Can you send a picture of the cable sent to you, I ordered one last year one from tvrparts, it was the wrong type.

If it the same one as I got, then you need to remove the whiteish coloured square plastic grommet on the original support bracket into which the cable sleeve is screwed. Then thread the new item through the (now much bigger) hole and secure with the large washers and nuts.

Its a bit difficult to describe without a picture. If you get stuck, post a photo.

Thanks Norman. knew i hadn't done the pics quite right! I will measure it up for your.

I wonder what methods people used to fix this cable at the Throttle body end before i start poking around. Big washers are an obvious one but wont they slip with vibration.

Any tips.
