We are moving back to the UK from Perth at some stage during July having spent a year here.

Because all our furnishings will be at sea (takes 6-8 weeks to arrive) and it will be the Summer holidays in the UK, we have a little time to spare.

we were thinking about stopping off at a few places on the way home, like Thailand, China, Singapore etc. Spending 2-4 weeks enjoying ourselves while educating our 4 children (aged 6- 16) and ourselves on different lifestyles and cultures.

We have not been to Asia before, and are looking for any suggestions of places to go to.

Also what would be the cheapest way to book flights for the 6 of us, do any agents specialise in this kind of thing?

Cheers

You'll probably find it is cheaper for you to buy your ticket in Oz, assuming you want a one-way ticket back to the UK? You can buy one-way tickets ex-Oz in the UK but they are generally more expensive.

As for where to stop, it would depend on what you want to see.

Thailand: Culture, nice beaches, good food etc, nice snorkelling/diving, but busy busy
Malaysia: Nice beaches, good natural stuff on Borneo (animals, rainforst etc), nice snorkelling/diving,
Indonesia: Nice beaches, good natural stuff (rainforest, volcanos etc), excellent snorkelling/diving, good culture on Java
Cambodia: Fabulous culture (Angkor)
Burma: Ethically, I would avoid.
Vietnam: good culture, beaches etc. Nice throwback to SE Asia as it was 30 years ago.

Edited four spelung misteaks.
