Congratulations David - To get an overall win in a Tuscan racer rallying is a hell of an achievement. What were you running against - no late model Evos and the like?

I've just spent a enjoyable 20 minutes watching your youtube vids. I'm building a Cerbera with LS6 engine for tarmac rallying here in New Zealand (www.targa.co.nz is one series). Would be very keen to know what mods you've found useful as the roads look similar to what we race on. Particularly suspension - any mods to wishbones, shock mounts, geometry?

Well done guys. smile

Superb video too....one of the best I've seen, and not polluted by some 'Rage against the machine' track, or whatever.

It would have been easier if that farmer hadn't left bags of silage all over the road though. scratchchin

Congrats David.

Was up there marshalling yesterday and must admit you were quite impressive.
Up against some very quick guys in their machinery.
Gotta give it to you.......... to take Trevor over Epynt, at speed, must take some balls laughlaugh

Well done. Having been over Epynt myself many years ago, its not easysmile As has been said above, have you managed to increase the Suspension movement?, TVR's are not the friendliest on bumpy roads!!

This post has really made me smile in a big way. The stages are timed at an average speed of 70. We tend to beat this so they pay farmers to dump hay around the place, known as a chicane, this hopefully brings the average speed down.

I have designed the suspension to have 4 inches compression and 2 of droop. Ohlins did the shocks for me and I have extensions to move the top mounts out to get better angle on shox. Race car uses 800 lb front springs which everyone told me that was soft, after doing corner weights I calculated frquencies for suspension and now use 400lb springs front and rear.

http://www.herefordshiremotorclub.co.uk/ResultsBookmes2009.pdf this a link to results and if you drop results of the link you should get entry

As for best mods, suspension travel then just big balls. The car is capable of much more I am not.

For your suspension set ups try "Race and Rally Source book" Allan Staniforth gives info on how to calculate spring rates from info you can gather your self. I am using about 122 CPM.

Some photos that were taken on the day.

Perhaps need to go up a bit on compression settings on shocks.

Crikey - good set of pics at the end there, no one would accuse you of not pushing hard enough! wink

Just wondering about the nose first landing here and the one in the video... is that from dabbing the brakes at liftoff?

In the video maybe but in these pics no way. Not allowed to run spoilers so think its something we will have to put up with. I did turn compression up on shocks later on and that helped with landing, I think I will go up a little on front as well.

Wouldn't I like to do that. I have had friends do it and they speak of needing a week and that would probably mean a divorce. Wont be this year but I definately have it on the list.

Even as an official I get there Thursday pm and leave early Monday am - do do/check notes you'd need an extra couple of days and an 18 month lead time on accomodation;)

Well worth it though, the 'long one' is 22 miles and starts the final leghehe
