I've been playing with cameras since about 1996 now so I know a little bit but everything has been self taught. I have a Nikon D80, which I love and have recently gotten into playing with prime lenses and shooting with a very shallow DoF which is great for things like BBQs which seem to be going on every weekend now.

However, I've feel that I'm not really learning much at the moment, especially with things like post processing.

Does anybody have any good books they can point me in the direction of, not just about post but the whole process of using DSLRs.

Ta very muchly.

I think you might want to wait a bit longer than 10 minutes before expecting an answer.

what sort of post-processing software do you have? That will affect any advice you get.

Push buttons, twist knobs, and learn Manual on your camera, it's the only way to learn in my opinion. Posting shots here (and other photography forums) is pretty useful for comments and the likes, and a good way to advance your knowledge!

Understanding Exposure is an excellent book. It's not really a "how to use slr's", but great none the less wink

Thanks for the link to the book, I'll have a look in a bit.

As for the whole playing with the camera, that's what I've been doing for ages and I'm at the point when I'm lacking a good understanding of technically what's happening etc

As for the question about the post, I'm currently using Photoshop CS3
