Siamese Racing

Now this one's a little unusual!

Spedeworth International brings what has to be the weirdest form of motorsport to Wimbledon at 6pm on Sunday December 7th when the Siamese Racers take to the track.

The Siamese cars consist of a Metro perched on top of a Ford Sierra with a driver steering from the top car whilst an equally brave driver operates the accelerator and brakes from the bottom car. Needless to say handling is not on par with a F1 Ferrari, so plenty of interesting racing action is on the cards when these bizarre machines navigate their way around Plough Lane.

More metal bending mayhem is guaranteed with the Mini and Metro Bangers tearing each other apart in their annual Mini and Metro Madness meeting. The field is dominated these days by hordes of Metros, with a few Minis keeping the flag flying for the Italian Job marvels.

nah, that's not right. I can't see any abandoned calor gas canisters or scabby dogs in the picture.

I hope Halfords don't see that - they might try to market it as a De-Luxe style roof box.

Thule Extra perhaps.

So next time you see a Metro on top of a Sierra on the back of a flat bed lorry, it could be a piece of deliberate engineering rather than simply a reflection of the order in which the scrappy collected them!

It would make more sense if the cars were attached roof to roof, then if they got rolled they could just continue.
