E39 M5 Flywheel Issue?
Discussion
I have an M5 with 112k miles, FSH and drives great but it has a vibration type knock which can be felt through the lever and car slightly. Also when you blip the throttle a tiny amount from tickover a small rattle can be heard from the bell housing area.
My question is has anyone experianced problems with the dual mass flywheel on these cars before I decide to change it along with the clutch and prop centre bearing and drive cushion. The vibration does not get worse when loaded and nor does it get worse with increased revs, its most noticeable around 2-3k so I dont see it being any of the other things I have listed as to be replaced (had drive cushion problems on a 330 sport before and that shows up under load).

I would be looking at the guibo and centre bearing before the fly-wheel. The guibo (essentially made of reinforced rubber) is known for splitting with age/stress. No 2 in this diagram: http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts.do?model=DE91...
Totally agree but with the prop insulator but you get more vibration the more you load it up which is not what mines doing. Also this wouldnt rattle if you blip the throttle a tiny amount. TBH though its so minor that my mates cant understand what I am on about so will leave it till the clutch gives up although that could be a while since it grips perfect ATM.
