Oulton Park - Shots from the weekend
Discussion
Hello all,After having an SLR for a few years, but not taking anything that I was really proud of, I've decided to try to take "proper" shots this year. Inspired mostly by the pics I see in this forum, I plan on getting out there and taking as many m/sport and wildlife pics as possible, in the hope that, the law of averages says I must get at least one or two I'm happy with

Panic not, PH'ers, I don't plan on posting photos of animals from my latest trip to the zoo just yet, I thought I'd start with some photos from last weekends BARC Caterham Graduates racing at Oulton Park(very entertaining it was too. Lesson 1. Spend more time with camera in front of face ready to take shots, instead of gawping at the on track action!). Anyway, enough talking and on to the pics - please comment as you see fit. I have thick skin (I think!) and I won't learn without criticism.
Firstly, as a tribute to PH...... (out of interest, does anyone here know this guy?)

...and rest.
IF I've done this right, clicking should take you to the Flickr page (I'm new to that as well
) but, like I said rip 'em apart, if they deserve it. It's all helpful in my book!I will post some pics from mine and Mrs. D's trip to Italy soon (they're on Flickr as well) which coincided with the Mille Miglia arrival in Rome. Now those, I need loads of advice on....
Just how DO you take photos of fast cars at night on a street and not end up with a load of blurred, orange weirdness..?!

Yes

(I was there too, but then having raced with the club for a few years I now take snaps to keep me occupied and to meet old friends, oh and the odd beer or two!)
Caterham after Caterham does get a bit boring but I put mine here for the lads (& lasses) racing - http://www.flickr.com/photos/27216728@N05/collecti...

I quite enjoyed it - I've seen a lot less interesting/exiting racing! And on much higher budgets too. Seemed like a great atmosphere in the pits as well - really friendly and a constant smell of sausages and bacon being rustled up to feed everyone!
Made me want to have a go myself, but I think that might make me realise the budget is a bit more than I can afford
