Help for Heroes - This Saturday
Discussion
Cant face the FA Cup Final? Fancy a day out in the sunshine? With the family? Watch some manly rugby action, let the kids run riot, eat a burger and some ice cream? Charity auction with some greeeeaaatt prizes (golfy stuff, posh eaty stuff, driving and shooting days out, 2 x private box for 10 people at a Harlequins pre-season game, signed Steve Davis snooker cue etc etc)
More importantly, donate to the Help for Heros campaign!
My rugby club, Horsham, are having a charity rugby match tomorrow (you will be pleased to note that Im not actually playing, so my wobbling belly will be kept in check, but my legs will most definitely be on show!). If you've nothing on, why dont you 'come on down'? Details below.

Dear All,
This is the final update on all that is going on on Saturday 30th of May for the first EVER Head 2 Head Challenge Rugby Match at Horsham Rugby club in aid of the Help for Heroes Charity..........this so called "final update" is going to be a long one so please take the time to read through all!!!
Firstly, I would like to thank all players from both sides, clubs etc that have put their names forward to take part on the day. As I said before, if we could of fielded all we would of had have enough guys to fill 10 teams so we obviously could not count everyone in, but the way things are looking there is always next year chaps!!!
Secondly, the support from the local area has been huge, not just with help with getting what we need on the day to make it a hopeful success, but with local businesses and beyond donating to the Auction.........and pretty much everything else we have asked for!
So.................The day!!!!
Gates will open at 11am to all, Cars and groups on foot alike will be expected to pay a minimum of £2 entry, baring in mind the cause.... should those pockets be a little deeper? then a greater donation would be very much appreciated!
The game kicks off, refereed by Guinness Premiership referee Sean Davey at 12pm with the promised Princess of Wales Royal Parachute Regiment Display Team putting on a great show and delivering the match ball from 13,000 feet to the "field of dreams" Also from 12pm you can expect other activities including a Bucking Bronco, Bouncy Castles....a Bungee Run and much more to ensure the whole family can be entertained.......BBQ's will be in full swing for the already feeling peckish and Ice Cream Vans also for ones wanting to cool from the sweltering, gorgeous pre-ordered sunshine!!!
After the game as promised, from 2pm the first British Lions game will be shown on BIG SCREENS for all that want to see the campaign off to an awesome start!!
As mentioned before, we have live music throughout the day from 2pm and long in to the night with the best talent we could find in the Southeast of England, they will be showing us what live music is all about on a 40 foot stage with the best sound system to grace even the best mini music festivals in our area for some time!
The Band Play list is as follows...................
2.00pm - 3.00pm - Ed Mayhew.......is a genius!
3.00pm - 4.00pm - The Blue Stragglers.........have been supporting some massive acts!
4.00pm - 5.00pm - AUCTION
5.00pm - 7.00pm - Chinchilla Zilla........These Guys totally rock!!!!
7.15pm - 8.30pm - Red Fish.........hmmmm where to start????
8.45pm - 9.30pm - Dann Dunn and the Reels.....probabaly the best un-signed original band in the country!
9.45pm - 11.00ish - The Session...... Totally Rocking the Place and Bringing us home like no one else can!!!
8pm, BIG FAT HOG ROAST!!!!!!
As you can see guys there is much there to see us partying in to the night so lets make a proper day/night of it.
Auction, I have sent you through the listing so wont do again, but be aware that there is much more of the same quality to add so please bring your wallets etc to ensure you don't miss out and also bare the main cause in mind!!!
This brings me to the end of my update as I have notified you of all else that is going on and am hoping you have made it through to read this far!!!
All we hope is that you all thoroughly enjoy the day that we have put together and make it one of many for the future!!
To use the same words again, "it is all about bums on seats" to make the day a complete success!!
I hope to see you and your family and all of your friends on Saturday at Horsham Rugby Club!!!
Much love, Big Jon!!!!
