I've done some made stuff in my time, but this is absolutely, utterly bonkers biggrin Absolute carnage in some races and some of the most blood curdling screams I've ever heard.

Looks like a quite normal hill in this pic;

Oh, it's a touch steep though, 1 in 1.5 in places;

and people 'run' down it chasing a cheese;

This was this chaps 5th 'career' win. He got his 6th win in the third race and then retired as he has a kid on the way. The people at the bottom are the catchers, also known as the local rugby club who tackle the racers (fall down a hill then get cleaned out by a 16 stone prop) ;

When I say run, it's more crash down the hill;

Of course, there's always one person in a mankini.......

Okay, not the best of pictures, but it's a touch difficult to get a stable platform when you have to continually kick a flatish foothold in a hill. My calf muscles have just about de-clenched!

I've seen that on TV - did a Blue Peter bod do it?

Anyway, it's not as mad as that Spanish thing where they throw tomatoes at each other, throw a donkey off a tower and then get gored by a bull...

'throw a donkey off a tower' - I could sing that to 'Agadoo' in Spitting Image stylee.

Maybe not.

Rory McGrath did it last year.

Trust me, it's much much worse than La Tomatina. You just get filthy there, not serious spinal injuries or 2 inch displacement fractures to a wrist. Pamplona is okay as long as you keep to the front and don't jump into a doorway. Not managed to find the goat out of tower festival yet.

TV really doesn't do the hill justice. It's a cliff.
