Info on my car...
Discussion
So, I had a look through the last month's posts, and thought - for your info - I'd post some details of my ZR1.
Insurance: £450 fully comp, limited to 7500 miles, with MC Edwards (I'm a 28yo male, 4y NCD, 6 points (3 now as some expired )
Fuel Economy: the readout is about 18mpg US, which is about 22mpg UK... I do thrash it a bit
The car ran under 1000 miles a year for the last 4 years (as per the MOT cert's)... I got the ZR1 in August and have done 2500 miles in it. Currently on 40,500 or so.
0-56 in first very quick (better than saying 0-60 eh?), about 5 secs or so with oldish Goodyears... got some BFGoodrich's on crate from US on order...
Handling: much stiffer and quicker round the corners than my previous LT1... good fun with a Beemer M3 (of course brand new ;-) ) round the twisties... It was too easy to keep up! and then pass him on the straight...
Action: as I'm in N Yorkshire, not much (Audi TTs (yawn) that sort of thing); bikes about the best... they are usually quite surprised (Gixer, you know what I'm talking about)
xxx mph on the A1 (the 4-lane stretch outside Peterborough... at night that road is a dream: it's lit, it's straight, and not too busy
I use GPS speed-camera db and Valentine 1.
And that's about it!
