Got a couple of lazy days at home and decided to have a sort through the pile of game CDs that is collecting dust in teh corner of a cupboard and found some classics that i have started playing again.

What oldies do you still play or do you wish you still had?

For me currentley its

Transport Tycoon (sad i know but so addictive)
The original Carmageddon
UFO enemy Unknown
Ultimate Soccer manager 98
and of course original Civilisation.

Test Drive 2: The Duel.

Awesome awesome game, you could even use a joystick as a proper gear stick!

Great link! However, i had a quick browse of the readme and it looks as though you need to have the original game, in order to install their opensource version? Is this correct?

If so, have they made any changes via their opensource program, as it would just make sense to play the game you had already purchased?

Doom - Doomsday version (http://www.doomsdayhq.com/)

Last time this was asked I remembered I built an add on WAD for Doom, managed to find it again after all that time and played it again smile

Still have it here - http://www.mercia.biz/Doom/Stony.WAD

Can't remember how to load it in normal Doom. "doom -file stony.wad" I think, but if you use the Doomsday loader you just pick it from the menu.

You can pick up a copy from eBay for pennies.

I have just downloaded the 0.7.0 version and it appears to have new vehicle types. The pictures on the website would also suggest that the limitation that used to end the game at 2051 might be gone too.

Oh well thats good then. I'm sure i already have this around the house, i just wanted to make sure that the opensource was adding things to the game, as otherwise i couldnt see any point in downloading the OS patches. Think i'll have to find this and give it a go smile

I still play the original (CGA graphics!) Test Drive every now and then, as well as the original Duke Nukem (2-D), and some newer things like Colin McRae Rally 2 and Need For Speed Underground.

Absolutely, effing, loved that game!!!!

I still play it every now and again!! Must have been through it at least 20 times!

Hope the 3rd one is more like the first game, and less like Invisilbe War....which was ste!

Others I still play;

Sim City 4,
Counterstrike Source (does this count as a classic yet!?)

And after recent news, I even loaded up;

Duke Nukem 3D!!!........seriously forgot how much fun that game was!!!!

ohh this brings back mamories of "testing the network" by playing networked Quake on an old (then state of the art) BNC Token Ring network ....

We even had a dedicated Quake server in the comms room hehe
