Just installed the latest version of Kazza and am now trying to get rid of all the adware that comes with it . I’ve removed perfectnav and mysearch but it says to remove GAIN I have to uninstall Kazza. Does anyone know if it’s possible to remove GAIN without uninstalling Kazza?

I had to remove DivX Player to get rid of Gain! Try uninstalling Kazza and installing Kazza Lite. Same thing only without the popups

That spybot is a very handy tool. Unfortunatley Kazza will not work without GAIN unless you pay 30 USD (you get nothing for free - apart from lot of adverts) so I'll try Kazza lite.

Uninstall Kazaa.

Download, install and run Ad-Aware

Download, install and run Kazaa Lite K++ (Spyware free plus loads of other goodies).

Sorted (and not a BA in sight!)

www.lavasoftusa.com is the place for ad-aware.

There's a free version I think but make sure you hit the 'update' button.

Always worked for me.

PS - Sorry, only just spotted the link above!

You really need to use both ad-aware and spybot - they both protect against things the other doesn't. For example, Spybot blocks the download of adware (Avenue A, Inc. seems the most popular) and spyware, but ad-aware just searches and cleans your system.
