Once Upon A Time In America
Discussion
I’d put Once Upon a Time in America in my top three films, in fact the poster sits framed above my head as I’m typing. It’s such a criminally underrated film and so tragic it was butchered the way it was by the studio, in its completed form it stands as one of the greatest American gangster films ever made, and in my opinion Sergio Leone is one of the greatest directors who ever lived.
For anyone who hasn’t see it I’d recommend getting the DVD and watching it in small doses, it isn’t an easy film to watch and some of the scenes are quite graphic, but its one if those films that once you watch it it’ll play on your mind for days.
Oh, and James Woods gives an absolutely outstanding performance playing the Psychotic Max.
As you can tell, I love this film!
