After a trip to Blockbuster on Saturday night I proceeded down the Ashbourne road towards the A38. As I was waiting to enter the A38 (to head South) at Markeaton island a nice looking TVR Tuscan (at least that's what I think it was) came from the North side of the 38 and headed South.
Now the driver of the TVR nearly kept to the 40mph posted speed so I sat back. As we crossed the next island where it opens to a 70mph national speed limit he changed to the left lane and I stayed in the right (sorry should have said it's dual carrageway) as I was in a rush and I knew I was going to be going fast.
Now wise guy in his TVR floors it at the same time as me leaving me in the outside lane (I was in the BMW) - I actually found it entertaining as I can't bare to see cars not being used to there full potential - although it wasn't as fast as I'd expected.
I continued to accelerate up to the speed I intended to travel at and started to gain on the TVR, then for some strange reason TVR boy swaps lanes in front of me - I was still in the right hand lane he was in the left and switched right in front of me. Then he slams on his brakes and drives along a 70 in the outside lane when there is nothing in the left lane.
At first I thought I'd missed something so dropped back, but for the next mile (now with cars to left) he continued to block the outside lane.
When we got to the next slip road, he floored it and shot of up the slip road, giving hand gestures out of the window.
So if that was you, what was your problem? Yes I know you car can out accelerate my BMW that's why I have a TVR Cerbera to play in. But it is feasable that a) Not everyone going faster than you is trying to annoy you and b) Just because your car is fast someone might want to go faster.
Not only were your driving antics annoying the were down right dangerous. They also don't give a very good name to TVR's.
As I've said above I have a Cerbera so I know what it's like to feel like the 'pied piper' with all the boyracers following you for miles but if you are not mature enough to except that someone might want to go fast than you then you should perhaps consider public transport.
I'm sure that this thread will get deleted as it may come across as provocative, but I'm really trying to understand why? and to maybe make others think about there actions on the road.

Had a few minor issues with them prior to taking delivery of my car. Only just had the 1k service - they fixed most things and didn't sort some others. I'm going back on Tuesdau to see if they can get to the bottom of a few remaining niggles plus the car seems to be idling at higher revs since it came back.
Jury still out really. If I don't get satisfaction there's always TMS....
By the way, just re-read your original story and I'm certain it wasn't me. I would've been at Blockbusters at the same time as you that night and would've been traveling exactly the same route, not coming from the North. Honest
I'm a very courteous driver. And Mrs Fish can give me an alibi, she saw me parked up on Ashbourne Road
