writing this from hospital bed!
had just washed the wifes rav this afternoon, cursing at the big scuff on rear of bumper, the scuff that matches an equivalent one on the wing of my tuscan, courtesy of my beloved last sat, crappy thing no. 1

then monday i get told my engine needs a rebuild...crappy thing no. 2.

then today, after wifes rav i thought, bike next, then tuscan.

so, bike onto paddock stands to clean chain, same as usual, put bike in gear, so it rotates slowly to clean with a brush and rag. well.....rag caught sprocket and yanks my hand with it...

i manage to pull away quick but not before taking the end off my finger...cue blood everywhere and immense painhurlso currently waiting for an op to shave the bone back and close my finger, 5mm shorter than it wasyikes:grosssmiley:

heres hoping my luck picks up soon, cause this aint fun
...be careful peeps accidents happen! i have done chain like that hundreds of times. never again cry
frown

oh, that was event 3, and tuscan still needs washin!!hehe

Its just karma, something very good must be about to happen to you. Perhaps the rebuild on the Tuscan will return 600+bhp!

Haven't been on here for a while and only just catching up with your mishaps. Things will turn around, they always do. I have had a little bad luck myself, hence why I haven't been on here. No personal injury but my cerbera didn't fair as well as I did. Nor did any of the stuff in the car, two laptops, removable hard disk, mobile data card, the list goes on - all in pieces.

I was/still am gutted, and by an odd twist I think my off happened about the same day you picked up the Tuscan.

Get well soon mate, will keep in touch.

Tim.

Hi Rob,

Yeah - not a scratch on me, not the same story for the car though. It was confirmed temrinal on Friday afternoon. It took several weeks of back and forth arguing for a repair and refusing to accept a total loss but in the end it was the insurance companies decision.

It will be a catD as although it looks bad (no front and half the back missing) it is all cosmetic (apart from the radiator and oil cooler). The problem is the lower prices some people are selling for and the salvage value of the cars being so high. Basically anything over 9-10k repair bill equals a total loss now for cerbs.

Still, nobody I can blame but myself. A case of even after everyday driving for just 5 months short of three years and even driving through the winters (thunderstorms, sleet, snow) one sunny day after a short april shower and it was all over.

Real shame as she was a never sell car, I guess she will not be growing old with me afterall.

Hope the finger is on the mend and the Tuscan issues are soon ironed out (she looks fantastic BTW).

Tim.

You've learned the hard way - *never* oil the chain using the engine to turn the rear wheel.

''Lesson No1, never put your finger where you wouldn't put your dick'' - good one...

I would add, since your beloved attacked the tuscan...

Lesson No2, always get the missus to clean the chain on the bike with the engine running...

Only joking!

Well im back in the land of the living today!!!

Finger still bloody sore but controllable and i will be off work for a while till i can drive / ride again.

Car off for a front end respray tomorrow at Option 1, courtesy of my beloved's insurance company. (meant to take it down today but having phoned them to explain the finger thing they were happy to pick her up! thumbup )

Also, looks like the car is then going to one of the best builders in the business down souf, having spoken to him myself and been bowled over with his engine knowledge i am pleased its going to him...

Maybe, just maybe, (touches wood!) there is a light glimmering at the end of this tunnel!!!
