Ebay question.
Discussion
Don't know if this is the right place to post but here goes.
I bought some vinyl off ebay a few weeks ago and the seller is being a bit of a pest. I don't buy stuff off ebay very often so don't know if she is trying it on.
I put in the highest bid and won the items, she contacts me to asking for payment and I pay via paypal, about 10 days later the seller contacts me again asking for the money. I check paypal and the money is in the account, status unclaimed.
I e-mail her back to say that the money is in the account.
No money has been taken from paypal and she now seems to be ignoring my emails.
The only thing I can think of is she wasn't happy with the price she got for the records and doesn't want to go through with the sale.
Any ideas about what I can do.

It's probably that the seller is a bit inexperienced when it comes to ebay. Do they have lots of seller feedback (i.e. feedback AS a seller and not from a seller)? They may not know that they have to retrieve the money from PayPal to get it to their account and that therefore, as far as they are concerned, you haven't paid. Schoolboy error on their part

There is a recent trick of either ebay or paypal acting as an escrow company, and holding the money until good feedback is recieved.
From people on here making comments on it, it seems people don't understand what "we will hold your money until good feedback is received" means.
It's possible this person is also stupid, and can't figure out that ebay is holding on to the money until good feedback is received.

1. Email the seller. Tell them you want the goods or your money back. Give them X (5-7) days, and tell them. After 2-3 days, send a second email, just to be sure
2. After 7 days, raise a dispute on Paypal. State that you emailed them asking for the goods X times. Then the money back Y times. Tell them to check with eBay logs (as it's the same company, really...)
3. Twiddle your fingers for a while as they check with the seller and ask them for proof of postage, etc.
4. Get your money back in a few weeks at most.
Don't get stressed about it/even bother to think about it. Just click the buttons & type the answers into the fields, and let it take its course. Unless they've got proof of postage, you'll have your money back.

I regularly sell items for around £500 making Paypal £25 a pop for doing f
k all.
How do you receive that £500?
k all. However, frequently I offer a £10 discount if they pay by cheque for which my bank charges me zip.
Just don't tell Ebay or they'll sulk.
To be serious for a second, what really concerns me is the total domination of the market that Ebay and Paypal have. That can only mean one thing - that the % they skim off sales will always increase.
Don't worry about the money, honey!!!
If you raise a dispute with Paypal, they will attempt to contact the vendor, if the vendor doesn't reply, then Paypal will take action. Unfortunately you have to forget about the item you so wanted in the first place.
Mine was for a set of rear lights. Vendor initially made all sorts of excuses about his GF supposaed to be posting them. This descended into no communications at all from the t**t.
Paypal sorted it. Never fear.

So they did do something then or do you expect them to run as a charity for your convenience?
Don't bother answering by the way as I know what your answer will be.
