Is anyone on here involved in full-bore target shooting?

I just want a general guide to costs, ammunition, hire, insurance? experiences?

Yes.
Rifle: From £100 to £5000
Ammunition From £30/100 £75/100
Hire: You need to join a club, they will probably have club guns for you to use.
Insurance: Usually done through club, or NRA membership.

Where are you?

Find a club here:

http://www.nra.org.uk/common/asp/links/links.asp?s...

or ask the NRA

Try the National Rifle Association at Bisley for further information.
They should be able to give you details of local rifle clubs and the availability of range facilities etc.
A great sport especially when you can put 10 in the middle at 600m.!

It is great fun, although ISSF smallbore and air rifle was my sport (I was in the GB team) I used to have a go at fullbore whenever possible. Shooting 1200 yards on Stickledown at Bisley the thing that hits you is how long the round takes to cover the ground.

I used to shoot fullbore (7.62) for GB Cadet team, and also 5.56 and .22 for the SE of England. Went to Canada in '93 for the DCRA matches at Connaught Ranges in Ottawa and spent 7 weeks camped on the range shooting every day....great memories.

Yeah, up to and over 1000 yards starts to get interesting!
