Graham,
Was this car dark silver with a maroon stripe?

If so it's not an Ultima but a Prosport, I've seen it several times too, last time at Spa in Sept.

Also please forgive me if I'm teaching you to "suck eggs" but I made the same mistake the first 3 times I saw the car

Alan.

Not a Noble then?

(Only yanking your chain - I'm sure you know the difference between an Ultima and a Noble)

Yep My memory says there is one with a cosworth V6 in it (from ford granada), I also remember it had twin turbo's. Maybe you could check the Ultima club site for details.

I've had a V6 granada cosworth and they are great fun with the std 197bhp, not sure it would be a better engine than a chevy in an Ultima though as it is an extremelly heavy lump in itself.

There is an Alfa V6 twin turbo Ultima out there, now that is a V6 Ultima to watch out for.

That's quite common. Is it the cam cover gasket? If so, you need to silicone the cam covers on or buy new cam cover gaskets from Barry at XR4i Spares.

I work with both the 24v v6 and chevy lsx engines. The ford is a heavy old beast but similar weight to a chevy lsx. I'd always have the chevy unless the ford was being fitted with turbo's in which case there probably wouldn't be much difference in performance. Unless of course you used forced induction on the chevy

boosted with the poducts you offer for the 24v V6 ford, and twin turbos, what kind of power could you get out of one???

thanks Chris.

A bog stock engine with stock c/r will make appx 310 hp with 7 psi or thereabouts. Lower the c/r (new pistons) makes 400 hp reliably but using appx 16 psi to achieve it. 500 hp is also achievable but I'm engaged in a project aiming for 600hp, ie TT Minker specs. Anything over 500 hp reliably will be just dandy. This is a big valve head conversion which will take some time to complete fitted upon a fully modded bottom end.
