A tricky one for sure, and no need to limit to just one so mine are:

Toyota GT1 just for the way it looked

The Panoz for the noise

Eb110 supersport just as it was a mental thing for someone to race

Porsche 962 GT1 for it's stretching of the rules

The bentley for the colour- sad I know

The lambo 2 years ago for the noise

And finally the MR2 as it just seems a mental thing to make a racer from

I've certainly got a couple, mainly from the newer era as I'm sure the 917 and XJR's will be mentioned numerous times!

Firstly the 2004 TVR T400R's, Simply as they are the only reason we went to Le Man in the first place, and now have me hooked!

Dome S102, now that LMP1 coupe was a beauty to behold, very much looking like the older Toyota GT1's, last year being its debut i'm very suprised to see no entry this year. frown

Panoz LMP-1, Strange driver position, engine in the front... But what a noise! 6.0ltr Elan V8 sounded amazing, like it was tearing your ears off. laugh

Toyota GTR1, probably the best car never to have won Le Mans. Great drive by Brundle too!

Ferrari 333 SP, just for the noise of the car, although it was never really competitive at Le Mans

Mazda 787B..the best sound ever at Le Mans, shame there's not enough Group C racers present there now!

Honda NSX...it was there in 1996, privately entered and finished too (just being sentimental!)

R.

1st place would be the McLaren F1 GTR from 1995 just for the sound.

Otherwise the XJR's for the history, the Toyota GT1 was a stunner to look at and then the Pantera from the early 1990's again, for the sound..

The best car ever was the Vipers years ago! They looked awesome, and I know everyone is fans of the Aston vs Corvettes grudge over the past few years! I'm a GT1 fan...my favourite class...

FIA GT loved the Saleen S7 just such a raw evil looking car

ADA's Triumph TR8 - unusual I know but built in a shed just around the corner from where I lived at the time - it just summed up the British amateur approach to LM.

has to be the Mclaren winning in a a mainly rainy Le Mans. The sound of their high pitched V12's at full chat down Mulsanne at night overtaking the Panoz while I was having a beer or two at les Hunaudieres will remain with me for a long time!

Like has been mentioned above - Panoz for the noise, I miss those cars :-(

Also, the green/black MGs from a few years ago when they were mixing it up with the big boys in the class above as they were such damn good cars.

As a race car the Audi R8's, incredible things, kept winning even with every rule change the ACO could throw at 'em.

Emotionally though the purple T400R's with the fornation finish in my second year. TVR took me there the first time and now i'm properly hooked.

Are we talking about the current cars or cars of the past?

For me I loved the Vipers racing in the 90s, I think that is what made me determined to get one biggrin I also loved the early Panoz cars, there noise was fantastic. For me now, the best sounding cars at Le mans are the Corvettes I have supported them since the Vipers stopped racing smile

I love the Spykers. They're just so willfully different, and they sound great. Just a shame they're not better developed.

Has to be the Jaguar XJRs. For taking on Porsche and the dominant 956/962 series cars and winning.

Probably the ultimate evolution of the car, in the classic white / purple colours - the XJR12LM:
