Reach For The Sky - did I imagine it ?

I seem to remember a scene in the film in which one of the German gaurds hits Douglas Bader's 'foot' with a rifle butt in the prison camp, not knowing about his false legs. Did I imagine this, or has it been cut from the film for the past twenty years or more ?

could have been on the BBC version of it in the 70's

It was certainly in the book so it might have made it through to the screen.
