Engine parts have arrived finally after long last, I should get the block back Monday.

Front chassis has been painted and engine ready to be planted in. I've decided to put off the full rebuild a little longer as I want to enjoy her this summer and pick up my mugs from Longers at S Club. beer

Few questions I now have:

Where is the best place to have all my bushes replaced and suspension sorted out? Somewhere south would be good but I'd rather go somewhere with lots of good reports and if you've had bad experiences then feel free to PM me.

I need new SS coolant pipes, I've looked on all the obvious TVR parts sites and can't find them. I'm sure I saw some company selling them but can't find them now.

I really hope my car is ready by S club! 3 weeks and counting. If not...I'll come in another car. boxedin

Hi Luke

If its hoses your after then the silicone hoses at ACT are good (if a bit expensive) I had them and the stainless steel water pipes fitted and they look good. If you have the SS pipes as well you need to change the otter switch for the chim/griff type

Luke,

Do the front suspension bushes yourself and save some money. They are really easy to do in a garage with standard tools - see my website and the full set including ARB in silicon cost under £100. I haven't done the rears yet (thats for the winter) but I believe you really need a press to get these ones out and in so paying for that bit would be sensible, although personnally I'd take the trailing arms off and take them and new bushes to a garage to just do the swap for me.

As Mark says, the fronts are really easy.

I've done my rears too and the old ones although more difficult to get out were not too bad on mine as they fell to bits. The technique to remove them once the central tube is out is two hacksaw cuts into the metal outer the width of a cold chisel apart, then cold chisel a strip out of the outside metal casing away and they fall out.

There is however no way in the world you can get the new bushes in yourself without a hydraulic press - I got a caravan place up the road from me to do them - they charged me £20 + vat.
