Any Comeback From This (eBay Problem)
Discussion
Bought a concert ticket from a seller who was seller over 400 tickets per month. Paid in February. Date of event is next month.
Just noticed that he is 'no longer a registered user' and has shut down the website he ran under the same name. The contact number I had now just goes to a vodaphone voicemail.
Due to the period of time passed since payment I cannot open a dispute through PayPal.
Any advice on where I stand or what I can do or should I just accept I have been done over and learn from it?

Unless you can get contact details (i.e address) then I'd say you're screwed unfortunately. I think I'm right in saying you could do a chargeback through Paypal though? You can do those upto 6 months for normal cards.
If you get his address I'm sure we could sort out a suitable lynch mob on here.

Yep, no comeback I don't think.Something similar wass being investigated by a colleague of mine. She has had to phone literally thousands of Ebayers who bought tickets for gigs and never received tickets or refunds. It's not a quick investigation - it takes alot of time and manpower. The one she was dealing with was over £40k of tickets - none of which he ever owned!!!!
Dont email Paypal its a waste of time. Ring them. I had a similar issue with a fake ipod. Paypals automated dispute ruled in the sellers favour saying I hadn't sent the corect documents in time (I had proof I had but tell that to an automated email system). A row on the phone and Paypal refunded me. They have discretion in matters like this otherwise everytime someone did a paypal transaction they could clear off with the money and there would be no protection for the buyer. Paypal as an organisation have to take some responsibility. If you have 100% feedback it helps.

Police. Seriously.
They recoved £13.50 for me once from an ebay seller who mysteriously disappeared!
Really!? How would I go about doing that? Is there anywhere else I can report this to? Seems like there are literally hundreds of people who have paid for tickets according to his feedback. The dates of these events are months away in many cases. They recoved £13.50 for me once from an ebay seller who mysteriously disappeared!
I guess it's only £50 but multiply that by the hundreds who have been scammed and there is someone out there seriously benefitting from this! Disgraceful really isn't it?
