Hi south coasters,

Not sure if you ever go into the south west forum, but we have organised two PH gatherings that hope to raise some money for the Dorset & Somerset Air Ambulance, whilst giving us all a good day out including lunch and a blat around some nice roads.

They are:

  • The Raleigh Rally, Sherborne Castle on Sunday 21st June
  • Motors at the Manor, Kingston Lacy on Sunday 19th July

I'd like to encourage anyone with an interesting car to attend, but all PHers are welcome.

Click here for the PH thread >

It would be great if you could attend either event, or hopefully both!

Thanks. thumbup

21st June at Sherborne - not appearing on Sherborne Castle website?

19th July not appearing on Kingston Lacey website?

They are PH events organised by us, not by the venues themselves.

Would very much like to take the Deronda to one or both of these only it's not road registered currently. Can trailer it though if you're looking for having some cars to make up a bit of a show for Mr and Mrs Public.....

Won't be a show as such, but the venues will be open to the public - don't expect vast numbers though as they are PH events and I'm not promoting to the general public - only car enthusiasts.

The Deronda would be a great addition and I'm sure trailering it in won't be a problem. However, it does mean you won't be able to come on the Dorset drive frown

Yep I know it's rather frustrating, it's a phenomenal car , but we're going to be building a road car shortly in the meantime we're booking some track days. If anyone has any recommendations for tracks I'd love to hear. The guys at the Blandford Slalom enjoyed seeing it and having a quick blast.

Happy to trailer it if it's OK with you guys.

I'm sure it won't be a problem, but I will check with the venues. I'm meeting the Kingston Lacy chap next week so will ask him then.

Bump.

I just know the south coast can squeeze more out!

Anyone want to win a powerboat cruise, a glider lesson, maybe a day with a drag racing team?

Update

The event on Sunday at Sherborne Castle was attended by about 120 cars and raised almost £700 for the Air Ambulance. It costs £3500 per day to keep the ambulance flying, so this money is very sorely needed.

Thread with lots of pictures

After the main meeting we visited the Air Ambulance base to meet the crew. Whilst there we conducted a sound test to see who was noisiest - 1st was Macey in his TVR Tuscan (115db), who won the bottle of wine and Noisy Bugger trophy; 2nd was Foundy's Ferrari (113db) and joint 3rd was Duesey's vintage Lagonda and Chimtvr's Corvette (112db).

We also took pictures of our cars around the helicopter and the crew were kind enough to answer some of our questions, e.g.

Due to advancing time, the countryside drive suffered but a number of us made the trip down to the coast:

The website for the next event at Kingston Lacy on 19th July is:

http://www.british-sportscar.com/ph/

Hope you can make it!
