What cat food?

I've relented, we're getting a kitten.

The breeder is now at weaning stage and wants to know what we want it weaned onto.

Is this IAMS stuff the be all and end all of catfood or overpriced nonsense?

Is a mix of wet pouch things and dry food better?

I dont know, any advice appreciated.

Certainly couldnt justify using a lobe of entire, maybe some of the pate would suit?

Our's won't touch IAMS for some reason. We give them a mix of Purina dry (chicken and rice flavour) and Sainsbury's own wet food. For some weird reason they won't touch the fish flavours. They also like left over curry and sausages

what ever you do DO NOT SPOIL the fker otherwise they get used to not eating what you give them

moff gets dry in the morning (IAMS) and a pouch of wet in the evening, he eats the lot plus gets fed by the neighbours - I was told last week he was sleeping on the neighbour's bed from the flats 4 doors down

you can get kitten version of dry and wet food

if you decide to only give it dry food you'll need to leave water out for it

We have tried a variety of wet food and most preferred product is Lidl's own pouches in gravy. Dry food is the Purina stuff.

Any hoo.... if you are putting them on kitten bicuits the iams ones are meant to be pretty good.
Science diet is meant to be ok as well.

My only advice would be, if you do go for the wet food option, ensure that it is in the little pouches, and not the smelly tins! Half a tin of cat food can stink!

1 measured portion per pouch means they don't leave food in the tray, and you don't have excess to worry about in the tin.

Our spoilt brats have had this stuff in both kitten a adult variants, all manner of flvaours both wet and dry.

Our Siamese gets half a tin of random cat food twice a day. He never complains, and eats whatever we give him. If we have run out, he occasionally gets a treat of a tin of tuna, but it has never put him his cat food.

Try and get puss onto dry food ASAP, it's better for their teeth and it makes their sts smell less. We use Hills which is expensive but you don't have to use quite as much as other foods. Plus, the little furry st machine wont eat anything else now

What sort of portion size are we talking here?

Seems a 3kg bag of IAMS kitten food is about £15.

How long does that last?

One a week/month?
