So, what TVR would be a match for a Noble, anything worth considering?

You'd have to go all the way back to the S Series from the early 1990s to find a TVR with a Ford engine smile

They're different cars - just like Lotuses - people choose them for different reasons. They're all great.

All I'm asking is if I want a change from my Noble, what TVR would be a good one to go for, somewhere about £25000, but I dont want to drop too much performance

What do you want to match ? Performance , handling, noise, interior, looks, lap times, reliability, ownership experience.......?

Performance, I know the TVR aint going to handle like a Noble and a Noble will never sound like a TVR, as for reliability, perhaps neither of us should go their

Any tvr with the 4.0RR and 4.3ltrRR engine even with standard diffs would be more than a match for the M12 GTO-3R in a straight line.

Start uprating the diffs and I'd like to think the tvr would comfortably pull away from an M12.

Just my opinion of course.

I would have thought any of the hardtops, but really they are very different vehicles.

You need to have some test drives.

I love both. smile

Hi,

I've never driven the Noble, but i've attached a link to a top Gear T350 vs Noble comparison.

Also, the designer of the Noble had some influence on the design of the Sagaris. The Sag might be over budget though.

It's a tough one. Let us know how you get on.

Cheers.

TopGear Comparison.

As you say, you're not going to get Noble handling, but in a straight line, the Cerbera, Tuscan, T350 and Sagaris will all be comparable.

Just decide which one you like the look of best and go from there biggrin

£25k will get you a modified Lotus Europa. Check out the one in my profile. Superb car. Few Lotus owners/drivers really have an idea what this car is really about. All that have seen and driven my other halfs love it! A true lotus (when nitron shocks fitted) but with much more comfort.

a standard Griff/Chim 500 with uprated shocks will be more than a match for a noble round a track and will murder it in a straight line.

I don't think so. Unless the TVR has The Stig at the wheel and the Noble has Granny Miggins.

Erm!! Have you ever driven a Noble?
My old 400 had a full geo set up, uprated shocks, poly bushes etc and whilst it handled well it wasn't even a match for my standard set up T350. A noble would easily outhandle my current car let alone my old Chim.

Interesting, so you think a factory spec T350 would be quicker round a track than lets say a well set up 500 with Nitrons.

Round a track I have no idea. My 400 had Gaz golds and a professional geo set up. On road it handled far better than the original shocks but felt no-where near as surefooted as my standard T350 does.
A 350 on Nitrons or Ohlins would be even better.

Yes. Assuming same driver/skill.

Edited to say: Mark - you need to take those brackets out of your usename - it screws up the formatting for quotes

I would disagree.
