Been out washing cars this afternoon and there has been a bird making a terrific noise - loads of different calls, almost sounds like one of those toad car alarms that change sound all the time!
Trying to find somewhere to host an mp3 - but any guesses as to what might make this sort of racket? It's still going as I speak!

More info needed. What kind of habitat? What's a toad alarm?Trying to find somewhere to host an mp3 - but any guesses as to what might make this sort of racket? It's still going as I speak!
Yeah I know, sorry!
Toad - they make car alarms, a friend had one on his old Cav that used to go off as he was driving, changed sound every couple of seconds!
Anyway, just been through this page and not found it...
Where can I host a 2MB mp3?
Habitat is my back garden, in the suburbs! It does sound a bit "foreign" if that makes sense.

One of the calls sounds like a bit like a fast police siren with a gap in between each cycle - repeated about 5 times. Another one goes "chirp chirp...... chirp chirp..... etc." where each chirp is quickly cycled between two notes, in a major third (if that makes sense)...
A Starling has an amazing knack of mimicking.NiceCupOfTea said:

Maybe someone was being arrested for assaulting a mynah?<gets coat>
Just looked at some youtubes of starlings but this sounds like birdsong, not something being imitated.
OK, got it hosted, here it is:

I could be wrong, but there are more than one bird in that file. I'll stick with my starling copying some aviary bird. Like I said, I could be wrong.OK, got it hosted, here it is:

What you have to understand about the Starling is that it can mimic anything. The recording you referred me too is a general Starling. They are different from region to region.NiceCupOfTea said:
Just saw it in a tree, by the time I had vid camera/binoculars the bugger had gone. It looked like a "normal" sized bird. I did wonder whether it was one of those parakeets that live wild in London - saw one over the road a couple of weeks ago.
No chance, parrots/parakeets squawk, not sing.NiceCupOfTea said:
That would be great! Can you provide a link?
He had the same problem as me to start with. The sound does come through right away. anyway....http://www.wildaboutbritain.co.uk/forums/british-b...
