Hi all,

If I put a deposit down on an AUC car, can the dealer take another offer?

Thx

If you leave a deposit and everything goes according to plan there's no reason the dealer will sell the car from under you; dealers want volume; they'll try and find another customer another car..having worked for large stealers that's my experience

I would say no. If you've left a deposit, I suspect you have a legally binding agreement.

They could sell it if you didnt meet and timelines they'd placed on you or you changed the deal i.e. you cant put a £50 deposit then ask for 6 months to find the rest of the money or said they had to refurb the wheels.

Thanks for the response.

OK, that's good. I've stuck a deposit down on this and am wondering why it is still showing up.

Mine was still on the BMW site a week into my ownership. Wouldn't put it down to any ulterior motive or risk to your intended purchase.

Great choice of car! I wouldn't be surprised if it doesn't stay on until you've paid for it. They'll keep it on there just in case the purchase falls through.

Fantastic choice you're going to love it...it will be on AUC for a little while (until you sign finance docs and the dealer gets paid out - or your turn up with the readies and clear the balance)..

You're going to love that engine. Enjoy it!
