Well after a couple of weeks of head scatching my S now starts on the key!
I am now the world expert on duraspark ignition systems (well sort of).
There's even a mistake on the TVR wiring diagram!
After removing the burnt out immobiliser, obtaining a new ignition module and doing more fault finding, we traced the fault to the dizzy.
For info the resistance across the hall effect sensor should be 0.56 k Ohms, mine was ten times this.
Convinced I needed a new dizzy we took the old one out, after a bit of playing we found the resistance of the hall sensor within the dizzy was correct, tracing back it was a dodgey connector to the dizzy. Set the static timing last night, she fired up pretty much first turn this morning, a bit loud with no exhaust on, so only ran for a couple of seconds.
One happy bunny!
I may go over board and do a U tube clip at the weekend
The rush is now on to get to S Club, not sure if I'll make it though! Still a lot to do!
