Well not really. But coca leaves, which is the raw material for cocaine.

You can buy coca tea-bags in the airport duty-free in parts of South America, all packaged up in cellophane-wrapped boxes just like Tetley's.

Often thought they might make a good local souvenir.

Question is, is it legal to bring say to the UK or USA or would I get the old sniffer-dog rubber glove treatment followed by a say-hello-to-your-cellmate-Bubba experience?

Hmm sounds like an all too easy way to import it to make into chang here so I'd hazard an educated guess at no.

Where do you think Coca-Cola gets it's name from?

It used to be a 'pick you up' - until they discovered and removed the active ingredient.

It is very good for you. But not legal over her.

Was made illegal some time after the war. For stupid reasons.

I'd imagine that you'd need some sort of licence at the very least, otherwise you'd have people importing it by the tonne & refining it in attics all over the country

They have to take the cocaine out of it if it is to be sold.

While in Peru i often chewed Coca leaves - they are good for altitude sickness - and freely available to buy.

The also kinda numb your lips, and tongue a little but you don't get any other effects from them, except maybe a small buzz but i think that was a psychological effect of knowing you were chewing cocains base ingreidient.

They also don't taste very nice - afterall you are just chewing on a leaf.

Nope, before.

Entirely correct there.

All the problems associated with cocaine are directly attributable to prohibition.

It takes mammoth stupidity to turn a source of revenue and free trade into the clusterfcensoredk we have today.

I didn't know when exactly it was.

The fact is the coca plant has great medicinal properties, and someone made a decision to make it illegal. People, well no politicians, wont back track on that.

Then they must be purged. smile
