Well, I've recently relocated to Germany and I'm in a quandary as to what to do with my E39 M5. I'm in two minds really....

One is that as I don't really need a car at the minute, I drop it off at a specialists in the UK for some badly-needed TLC (bodywork, suspension) and leave it with them to sort. I can then pick it up later, bring it over to Germany, and then enjoy it on the odd occasion.

The other is that I flog it now and then think about something else LHD. I do fancy a 997 C2S, but I think I'd still miss the M5.

I don't know whether it's worth me keeping a RHD car over here or not basically. Do I just get rid and move on?

Depends how long you're over there for.

I know someone else who worked in Berlin and they took their M3 with them and then used it for trips home and weekends.

I'll be here for a couple of years or thereabouts. The M5 makes intercontinental travel a breeze, but I don't really fancy piling the miles on it...

If you don't need it for daily use then an occasional drive back to the UK won't be too scary for mileage

I bought a RHD E46 M3 six monts before I left Germany in anticipation of the return home. It wasn't much bother to drive there.

Take it with you. I have my RHD car with me in Switzerland and I am in Germany most weekends visiting the girlfriend's mother/buying good beer/hooning in the Black Forest/trying to see if my car will ever pass 140mph!
