I had to uninstall Studio 8 due to it not recognising new dvd burner , apart from not being able to burn to new dvd burner studio 8 was working fine but after re-install every time i click on to capture pc restarts i have tried uninstalling and reinstalling with no change its diving me mad any ideas would be appreciated it must be something obvious but i dont know what have installed latest patch and version with no change HELP!

I'm no expert, and I only have the basic Pinacle PCTV thing but whilst mooching around the downloads section on the website a few days ago I'm sure I saw a patch that fixed something that sounded strangely similar to your problem.

If you can't turn anything up I'll have another look for you.

Any idea why I'm having such a torrid time tuning mine in and getting such rubbish reception?
I'm using the same aerial that works fine for our normal TV's.

any help appreciated! have looked on site but if you can find it again i would be very gratefull! could only find upgrade patches

I don't know if it's your card but the reg-delete utility sounds like it may e the thing you're after.

"RegDelete is a utility that corrects problems that may occur when installing and uninstalling Studio applications. "

As I say, I'm no expert but it may be worth a try.

Ran into a similar problem with my father's system after he upgraded his burner. Turned out there is an MS tech bulletin on it (or similar):
