Best Printing/Picture Ratio
Discussion
I was surprised I didn't find anything in the search but what do you generally feel to be the best ratio for printing images. I know a fair amount of the decision will be subject matter dependant but do you stick to paper sizes/ratios eg 6x4, 7x5, A4 or do you have a preferred ratio for particular types of photograph? I've always liked square images but for some strange reason never like 'wasting' the extra paper on a normal sheet!
I have a A3+ printer and often stick to printing A4 with sensible even border or the A3+ with border. The downside is that hardly anyone seems to make frames for A3+ or portfolios for them (let me know if you know someone that does!).
So,
1:1
3:2
7:5
4:3
As (eg A5/A4/A3) etc
Specials (egA3+, custom ratio)

You'll be meaning the golden ratio then:

So around 3:2, but yes the subject matter is more important when deciding the crop.
