Just wondering, for the newbie plebs in here like me that are getting the kit (or at least a camera hehe) but haven't a clue, would it be possible for you people who are putting up some fantastic shots to give just a few key notes of information on how you composed the picture and the basic equipment / settings to achieve it?

Don't know if other newbies find the same as me but although reading books (and manuals!) I find it far easier to learn by seeing just a few key notes beside an example!

It came up in the "Someone think of the amateurs" thread yesterday that Jesus and God shoot Canon. I shoot Canon too, that is the guidance you need. Buy Canon.

It appears that someone does think of the amateurs, Nikon.

Seriously though if you see any image you want to know more about just quote the post, change the img or pic tag to thumb tags and ask the question as everyone is usually happy to help when asked but too busy to type when posting.

Read the other day that 7 out of 10 pros now use Nikon, so the D3 did it for Nikon, and it's now catch up for Canon. (About bloody time!)

Thats a real surprise to me Steve! Whenever im out at a photographed exhibition or something, the amount of L glass wandering around seems to be huge in comparison to Nikon

D3 sorted that!

Shooting at 5000 ISO without noise means all the paps and hacks are buying them in droves. (previously a Canon preserve)

You can argue that God would shoot Canon, but Jesus would use a Leica M series camera, that is indisputable. It's all about the sandals you see.

Has this thread gone off topic?

God wouldn't go near Jap crap - he'd definitely use Hasselblad or Leica - but would buy it over time. Probably seven days interest free.
