Camera advice?

Hi to you all.

I am considering a long-zoom camera such as the Fuji Finepix 8100 and was wondering if anyone has any views on this or similar cameras.

I require it for me and the missus to take general shots including off-roading days so we don't really want to get into the expense or complexity of a full DSLR. The fujis are around £180 which is not TOOOO painful if it gets damaged in the back of a Land Rover or dropped by the kids!!!

Any help would be gratefully received.
