Hi Everyone,

Following an enquiry about "Shiny Nuts" at the Chatsworth meeting last Sunday, Racing Green TVR has "re-researched" this requirement with our suppliers.

If we receive 15 orders, we will specify and order stainless steel (316 grade) "Polished Nuts".

The retail price will be £75 + VAT, the leadtime will be approx 8 weeks and the "Polished Nuts" will only fit TVR Spider alloys. They will be supplied in sets of 20.

If you would like a set for your Spider alloys (Sagaris, Tuscan, T350, Tamora or Cerbera), please post below and also send an e-mail - to reserve your set - to philipf@racinggreencars.com.

Best Regards,
Chas

Whilst we have received reports of this being an advert which isn't normally allowed in the forums unless paying. After a chat with fellow mods we have decided that is more of a request after being asked by a number of TVR owners at Chatsworth Recently.

Cheers

Alternatively get yourself a set for a Jeep Cherokee from Ebay for about £20!

The ebay ones are just chrome plated as oposed to proper stainless nuts which wont crack or rust.

What about an option for anthracite spyders? The bright ones would look a bit silly I think. Can they be powder coated or something, to ensure that they don't chip when spannered off?

Hi Guys,

Its me again, "RGChas", (but when I log on at home I appear in my other hat as "Jagman") !

Thank you for the moderators' tolerance Ballistic Banana.

I thought it might be helpful if I kept a running log while we work towards 15 sets, so here is the list so far:

1. Whitey.
2. Sidpinup.
3. Fast Eddie.
4. Rimmer.

Thanks and Best Regards,
Chas

Hi T400RA

Thanks v much for your support at Chatsworth Lee !

You do have a point re a solution for Anthracite Spiders.

I will raise it with the Engineering Gurus at Racing Green.

How about we treat the "Polished Nuts" so they come out looking like polished gunmetal ?

Best Regards,
Chas

My pleasure Chaz; happy to help out. I hope that the guy and his girlfriend found you, as he was really interested in owning a TVR.

Not sure about gunmetal, but if you can investigate the anthracite I'll be interested.

Cheers,

Lee

I have anthracite spiders. The nuts I'm using are local jeep cherokee, and they are covered with some bliniking hard coating which doesn't seem to chip or peel after many air tools applied.

I doubt you need anything 'special' if you have anthracite spiders. But I'm sure nice SS for shiny spiders would be good.

just a word of warning.

I'm not sure who is manufacturing these for RG but you need to make sure the StSt thread is very cleanly machined. Any engineer will tell you that rough cut StSt threads are lible to bind because StSt is known to tear if the thread surface is irregular.
