I have posted on this site once or twice as i also have an E39, when i came across this.

Sad really that most of the opinions expressed come from those who haven't even sat in a TVR, least of all owned one.

My sisters mates brothers uncle had one...and they smelled of glue and broke down...apprently rolleyes

BMWs break down too. And, everyone assumes you are a tosser.

This sort of crap goes around all the time. Sometimes funny, but seldom informative. Why start another one?

Take this back to them.... My X5 4.4 and my 911 (996)TT both broke down in the last year.... my pair of TVR's are both still running fine.

End of story. Morons.

Tbh, i don't to get involved in these 'debates' into dissing other cars particularly ones i haven't owned, but hey...something to read eh. coffee

So join up. Post a few for me.

They'll only be bloody estate agents and 'property developers'; it isn't like you care about their feelings! hehe

They all sound like a bunch of school kids. Most of them don't even seem to own a Beemeer other than those aging 5 series being broken.

They know there stuff about motoring history though;

Thank God for PH and its far more sensible levels of discussion. I know we get "trolled" occasionally, but generally its far better than that papp. Please do not encourage them over here.

TVRs are bad-mouthed by the ignorant and easily-led, the mechanically incompetent, and most likely a combination of the two...or three. smile

Bimmers are great cars.
For floating to work - fun they ain't. Not like a Tiv anyway.
I had an E30, E39 and now an E46 330Ci - all by far the best cars of their kind. I recently had an Audi A4 which was easily the worst (prestige rolleyes ) car I've owned - utter pants.

...Unless they're both as bad."

Why do you lot constantly delude yourselves into thinking your cars are as good as a massed produced car with Billions of development costs behind them???

THEY ARE DIFFERENTshout

Someone on a BMW forum makes a few statements (most of which appear pretty true) and a TVR Massiv rant is hurled back. Then someone finds a porsche with a blown engine and decides that porsches are unreliable too, don't forget guys for 1 TVR there are approx 100 Porsches??

ALL CARS BREAK DOWN.

The reality is that TVR's also break down.

Some TVR's are owned by tits who don't maintain them but so are some Porsches.

Get a life guys!! just go out for a drive and enjoy the car you own, which ever badge is on the front.

Never really got to grips with all these 'E' numbers. All i do know is that they are safer to eat with the 'E' in front smile

The most unrelibale car I've ever owned was a BMW E30 320i.

Not for a minute suggesting that makes all BMWs crap, but if you follow that logic my personal experience is that TVRs are less trouble than German repmobiles. wink

Most of us own more than one car (I have a BMW and a Fiat), and aren't at all deluded.
It's just the ignorance that (mildly) irritates. smile
